WELCOME TO CROFTON HIGH SCHOOL  

  Headteacher's Update

The last three years have proved to be amongst the most successful in the history of Crofton. In January 2007 the school was inspected by Ofsted and subjected to their rigorous regime. The school was found to be good with some outstanding features and a full copy of the report can be obtained from the school or via the Ofsted website. 

Two other external independent bodies also inspected aspects of the school in the Summer Term of 2007. The Investors in People report was glowing and we continue to hold the standard. In the Healthy’s assessment, which has a broad view of students well being, we yet again had a very successfully experience and the school is now recognised to achieve the standard.  In July 2008 the School was successful in its Artsmark re-application, yet again achieving a Silver Standard.  

In January 2008 we were informed by the DCSF that the excellent results produced by the school over the last three years had placed the school in the top 100 schools in England for improved performance.  In the last two year we have also received national recognition on four occasions from The Specialist and Academies Trust for high performing GCSE results.  Obviously these are fantastic accolades and are reflective of the high quality of education provided at Crofton, Specialists in Maths and Computing.   High School

The continuing high standards of achievement have been produced yet again in 2009  when, for the fourth year running, the school achieved 87% at 5 A*-C and 67% at 5 A*-C including Maths and English grades. 96% gained at least 1 C grade. All the students gained qualifications.

The school has had a clear focus on the attainment of Maths and English and the 67% figure is outstanding (national figure for 2008 is 48%).  The Maths performance for the school last year was in the top 1% of the country.  These results are built on a foundation of care and support for each individual pupil.
